ODYSSEY DANCE THEATRE LTD (ODT) , a company limited by guarantee with charity status, was founded in June 1999 by Artistic Director Mr Danny Tan. A strong advocate of local original dance works and ability-driven dance education, the company had toured to Armenia, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Malaysia. To date, specialists and dance practitioners from Austria, Australia, China, Finland, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, USA and UK had imparted their valuable international knowledge and dance experiences with our local youths and students.

ODT provides a challenging environment where INNOVATION, CREATIVITY & PRECISION are practiced, appreciated and recognized . POSITION A – DANCERS CUM INSTRUCTORS

Responsibilities

You will be involved in the choreographic workshops leading to performances, both locally and internationally. During non-performance periods, you will be responsible for the facilitation and instruction of dance curriculum for ODT’s Arts & Dance Education Programmes (Schools & Community).

You will work with other Dance Instructors/Facilitators in the execution & monitoring plans and programmes, to ensure that quality and ability-driven programmes are conducted.

Challenges

  • Performing with one of Singapore’s foremost contemporary dance companies

  • Implementing training and development programmes for youths and students

Job Requirements

  • At least a basic dance degree with relevant qualification and background in arts/dance and training
  • Dynamic & highly driven
  • Prior experience in professional dance performances required

 

POSITION B – DANCE COORDINATOR (Curriculum & Planning)

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for planning and developing the curricular framework for ODT’s Arts & Dance Education Programmes (Schools & Community).

You will also be in charge of formulating, monitoring and reviewing plans, programmes and policies to ensure optimal deployment of expertise, talents and resources within ODT.

Challenges

  • Strategizing and implementing new initiatives / partnerships for Arts4yoUths’ curriculum framework
  • Conceptualizing and implementing training and development programmes for teachers and instructors
  • Establishing an effective arts & dance management system to manage, review and improve key processes (eg. admission, assessment administration, career guidance & scholarships)
  • Planning and implementing policies that will ensure the fulfillment of ODT and Arts4yoUths’ core purpose and objectives

Job Requirements

  • A good honours degree with relevant qualification and background in Education and arts/dance
  • Strategic vision
  • Dynamic & highly driven
  • Excellent planning, organizational & people management skills

 

POSITION C – DANCE INSTRUCTORS & FACILITATORS

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the facilitation and instruction of dance curriculum for ODT’s Arts & Dance Education Programmes (Schools & Community). You will also be in charge of execution, monitoring and reviewing plans, programmes and policies with the Dance Coordinator, to ensure that quality and ability-driven programmes are conducted.

Challenges

  • Implementing new initiatives / partnerships under Arts4yoUths
  • Implementing training and development programmes for youths and students
  • Help implement an effective arts & dance management system, and policies that will ensure the fulfillment of ODT and Arts4yoUths’ core purpose and objectives

Job Requirements

  • At least a good honours degree with relevant qualification and background in Education and arts/dance
  • Dynamic & highly driven
  • Prior experience in dance teaching and instruction required
